Mathstorm

So these seven kids are from Denton. Apparently Mathstorm formed when two of the members thought up the idea in art class. They sound suspiciously similar to Broken Social Scene, but I don't mind because they sound good. Here are a couple of songs from their website. Enjoy.

Voot Cha Index

Daedelus

Emerging from the suburbs of Plano, Texas, this young group of high school students is slowly making itself known in the Dallas music scene. Beginning as a Pavement cover band, Voot Cha Index eventually began writing their own experimental psych-rock. A successful instore at Good Records has scored the band many gigs with popular local groups such as Fishboy, Record Hop, For Those Who Know, Pegasus Now, Blackheart Society, and Cordelane. Their self-released LP, To Begin, is available for purchase at Good Records and Pancakes For Mattie is about to release a 7" single, "Talking House." Expect more to come from these guys.

Daedelus

Daedelus

Daedelus' new release, "Daedelus Denies the Day's Demise," is a must-listen for fans of Cornelius. The opening track sets the mood with rambling looped strings and heavy beats. The unconventional song structures that characterize Daedelus' style leave the listener wondering what will come next.
